WORSHIP& EDUCATION NEWS:
 
ADULT EDUCATION: Class will meet at its regular time (9:00 am Sunday) and continue with its study of Matthew.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: Will resume meeting at the First United Methodist church at 9:00 am under the direction of Jill Pillow.
 
WORSHIP: April 19, Holy Eucharist Rite II at 10:30 am with Rev. Canon Louis Hayden from Germantown, TN officiating.
Readings for the Third Sunday of Easter, April 19: Acts3:12-19; Psalm4, 1 John3:1-7; Luke 24:36b-48.
 
April 22nd, midweek Holy Eucharist in the chapel at 5:30. Rev. Arnold Hearn will be our regular celebrant at the midweek Wednesday Holy Eucharist.
 
FELLOWSHIP NEWS:
 
Next Sunday, April 26th The Rev. Canon Louis Hayden will be with us again when we honor our two seniors (Rowland Brothers and Katy Mouritsen) after church with a luncheon (not a pot luck).  Look for more about this in the next newsletter or contact Lindalu.
 
PASTORAL NEWS:
 
St. John’s Good Samaritans (ECW):  Please feel free to call Maureen Jones (404-697-7197) or Jeannie Turley (870-816-6387) if you are in need of some help with errands or transportation or food, or if you would just like some company.  These and other members of the ECW have graciously offered their time to assist anyone needing help.  If you would like to volunteer services, please let Maureen or Jeannie know.

The Samaritan’s Purse: The Samaritan’s purse category for donation for APRIL is:
GIRLS 2-4 yrs.; Onesies, shoes, dresses and tops.
GIRLS 5-9 yrs.; T shirts, pants, dresses, panties and sox.
GIRLS 10-14 yrs.; T shirts, jeans, shorts, and flip flops.
A basket for the collection of these items will be in the narthex every Sunday.
 
Angels of Grace –The item from their wish list this week is bath soap and deodorant (women & children) for the women’s shelter. Please place you items in the plastic tub at the stair landing just outside the chapel coming up from the undercroft. 
 
Humane Society of the Delta spay and neuter clinic will be held in the undercroft April 21-23rd, Volunteers are welcomed.

EXCUSE OUR MESS! Hurd Construction and painting has begun the tuck point project on our bricks which will preserve our building for future generations.  There will also be some painting done.  Have patience with us while we undergo this facelift.

WORSHIP& EDUCATION NEWS:
 
ADULT EDUCATION: Class will meet at its regular time (9:00 am Sunday) and continue with its study of Matthew.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: Will resume meeting at the First United Methodist church at 9:00 am under the direction of Jill Pillow.
 
WORSHIP: April 12, Morning Prayer Rite I at 10:30 am with Michael Fielder as worship leader.  Immediately following the service we will have doughnuts and coffee in the chapel.
 
Readings for the Second Sunday of Easter, April 12: Acts 4:32-35; I Psalm 133, 1 John 1:1-22; John 20:19-31.
 
MIDWEEK WEDNESDAY EUCHARIST; We will resume our weekly midweek Eucharist on Wednesdays on Wed. April 8th. There will be no more evening prayer services during the week.
Rev. Arnold Hearn will be our regular celebrant at the midweek Wednesday Holy Eucharist.
 
Sunday, April 12th The Rev. Canon Louis Hayden from Germantown will be our officiant.

ECW NEWS:  April meeting at 5:00p.m. on April 13th at Lu griffin’s home.
 
ECW BABY SHOWER GIFTS: The ECW voted to help Diana Reeves prepare for her baby by having a baby shower at our next meeting.  Since April 13 is her due date, we need your gift now.  If you would like to participate in this project, please bring your gifts to the church office (hours are 9:00 am -12:00 noon, Monday-Thursday) by Thursday, April 9th at noon or bring your gift to church on Sunday.  Bennette Morris will make sure these get to her.  The ECW has already purchased a Pac’n Play and will secure a car seat but she needs everything else.
 
 
FELLOWSHIP NEWS: Immediately following the Sunday service there will be doughnuts and coffee in the chapel.
 
Mark your calendars for April 26th when will have the annual Seniors’ luncheon honoring our graduates.

ACOLYTE NEWS: And one more thank you to Rowland Brothers, Katy Mouritsen, Katherine Wright, Ann Lee, Ned Pillow, Ed Pat Wright, Mike Fielder and Christopher Rogers for their help with all the special worship services during Holy week and Lent.  You are very important to our church worship.

ADULT EDUCATION: Class will meet from 9:00 until 9:30 to review what they have studied in Mathew and then leave to go the Flowering of the Cross at 9:45 in the church.
 
SUNDAY SCHOOL: No class due to Flowering of the Cross at 9:45 am.
 
WORSHIP: EASTER April 5, Holy Eucharist Rite II at 10:30 am with Rev. Stuart Hoke as our celebrant.  Please give him a warm Delta welcome.
Immediately following the service we will have “Mimosas on the Lawn” and an Easter egg hunt for the children. (In case of bad weather, all this will be held in the undercroft.)
 
Readings Easter Sunday, April 5: Acts 10:34-43; Psalm118:1-2, 14-24; I Corinthians 15:1-11; Mark16:1-8.

WORSHIP& EDUCATION NEWS:
 
ADULT EDUCATION: Sunday at 9:00 am continues its study of Matthew.
SUNDAY SCHOOL (for age kindergarten through the 4th grade): Sunday at 9:00 am at the First United Methodist Church.  They are studying the life and teachings of Jesus leading up to Easter.  
 
WORSHIP: March 22nd, Holy Eucharist Rite I at 10:30 am with the Rev. Arnold Hearn as our celebrant. (Easter Lily Donation forms are now in your church bulletin & church office.)
 
Readings Sunday, Mar 22nd: Jeremiah 31:31-34; Psalm 51:1-13 or Psalm 119:9-16; Hebrews 5:5-10; John 12:20-33.
 
LENTEN EVENING PRAYER: All Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during Lent at 5:30 in the chapel.  This week’s worship leader is Ann Lee.
 
WEDNESDAY, March 25th, we will have Holy Eucharist at 5:30 in the chapel led by Arnold Hearn followed by a light meal hosted by Grace and David Henderson.
