From Fr. Ray

This Sunday we will remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on what has become known as Palm Sunday. At 10:15 our friends from First United Methodist and First Presbyterian will be joining us in our Garden for the liturgy of the palms followed by our worship service at the usual time of 10:30.  We are very blessed this week to have Ms. Elizabeth Garcia as our guest soloist. Ms. Garcia is a talented young woman who teaches music at the KIPP School.

I hope to see you this Sunday as we join the first Palm Sunday crowd in proclaiming, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

 Blessings, Fr. Ray +

The Easter Lilies 2017 order form is included below and will be on table at the back of church.

From Fr. Ray

This coming Sunday, April 2, we are delighted to welcome Fr. Jason Alexander back to St. John’s.  Fr. Jason is on the bishop’s staff and has been a good friend to St. John’s. It is always a pleasure when he can be with us. We also welcome Mr. Drew Spencer-Bell who will be providing beautiful music for our service. Mr. Spencer-Bell and Ms. Dagmar Bergan will be playing several oboe/piano duets during our liturgy.  I am encouraging everyone in our St. John’s family to be present to welcome Fr. Jason and enjoy the lovely special music.  Blessings, Fr. Ray +

Commemorative Coffee Table Book

We are looking into the possibility of publishing a commemorative coffee table book at St. John’s.  The book would be hardcover and contain around 125 pages of beautiful pictures of the interior and exterior of our building. Also included would be pictures of all of the memorial kneelers along with an index of who created each one of them.  The approximate cost of the book would be between $75 and $100 depending on how many were ordered.  If this is something you would purchase if it was produced, please let Marjie know by calling the church office at 870-338-8115 or emailing office@saintjohnshelena.org
