WORSHIP& EDUCATION NEWS:
 
ADULT EDUCATION: Sunday at 9:00 am continues its study of Matthew.
SUNDAY SCHOOL (for ages kindergarten through the 4th grade): Sunday at 9:00 am at the First United Methodist Church continues its study on Jonathan.  
 
WORSHIP: February 22nd, Holy Eucharist at 10:30 am with the Rev. Angie Tharakan from All Saints Russellville as our celebrant.
 
Readings Sunday, Feb. 22nd: Genesis 9:8-17; Psalm 25:1-9; 1 Peter 3:18-22; Mark 1:9-15.
 
LENTEN EVENING PRAYER: All Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during Lent at 5:30 in the chapel.  This week’s worship leader is Jack Myers.
 
WEDNESDAY, February 25th we will have Holy Eucharist at 5:30 in the chapel led by Arnold Hearn followed by a light meal hosted by Jayne and Walter Morris.
 
FELLOWSHIP NEWS:
 
WEDNESDAY Feb. 25th following the 5:30 Eucharist we will have our first LENTEN MEAL hosted by Jayne and Walter Morris. 
 
PASTORAL NEWS:
 
St. John’s Good Samaritans (ECW):  Please feel free to call Maureen Jones (404-697-7197) or Jeannie Turley (870-816-6387) if you are in need of some help with errands or transportation or food, or if you would just like some company.  These and other members of the ECW have graciously offered their time to assist anyone needing help.  If you would like to volunteer services, please let Maureen or Jeannie know.

OUTREACH NEWS:
 
Outreach meeting at Bennette Morris’s home, February 23rd at 4:00 pm.
 
The Samaritan’s Purse: The Samaritan’s purse category for donation for this month is hygiene.  A basket for the collection of these items will be in the narthex every Sunday. Items included in hygiene are: tooth brush, tooth paste, soap, wash rags, shampoo and comb & brush.
 
Angels of Grace –The item from their wish list this week is paper towel for the women’s shelter. Their office is on 406 Pecan Street.

The women of the Helena United Methodist Church cordially invite everyone to attend “Lenten Listening” services beginning Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18th at 12:00 noon each week.  These services will continue on Wednesday through April 1st.  Bring a sandwich and they will furnish beverage and dessert.  A nursery will be provided.  This week’s speaker will be Randy Brister.
