WORSHIP& EDUCATION NEWS:
 
ADULT EDUCATION: Class will meet at its regular time (9:00 am Sunday) and continue with its study of Matthew.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: Will meet at the First United Methodist church at 9:00 am under the direction of Jill Pillow until June and then break for summer.
 
WORSHIP: May 31st, Holy Eucharist Rite II at 10:30 am with Rev. David Langdon from
Sumner, MS just right across the River from us.
 
READINGS for May 31st, Isaiah 6:1-8; Psalm 29; Romans 8:12-17; John 3:1-17
 
MIDWEEK EVENING PRAYER at 5:30 in the chapel led by Jack Myers.
 
FELLOWSHIP NEWS: Next Sunday, June 7th we are very fortunate to have Bishop Larry Maze here with us as our supply priest.  We will have a POT LUCK LUNCH immediately following the service down in the undercroft.  Contact Julie Pittman if you wish to volunteer to help in the kitchen.
 
PASTORAL NEWS:
 
St. John’s Good Samaritans (ECW):  Please feel free to call Maureen Jones (404-697-7197) or Jeannie Turley (870-816-6387) if you are in need of some help with errands or transportation or food, or if you would just like some company.  These and other members of the church have graciously offered their time to assist anyone needing help.  If you would like to volunteer services, please let Maureen or Jeannie know.

OUTREACH NEWS:
 
The Samaritan’s Purse: The Samaritan’s purse category for donations in JUNE is:
 
Boy Toys(nothing suggesting combat, war or danger) for ages 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14.
Suggestions:
Tools, hammers, small tool sets, puzzles, flashlights with batteries, farm machinery, wagons, cars & trucks.  Balls of all kinds, games, coloring books & crayons, harmonica, horn, whistle (noise makers).  Remember EVERYTHING must fit in a SHOE BOX!
 
A basket for the collection of these items will be in the narthex every Sunday.
 
Angels of Grace The item from their wish list this week is cleaning supplies for the women’s shelter. Please place you items in the plastic tub at the stair landing just outside the chapel coming up from the undercroft. 
 
CHURCH OFFICE NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENS:
 
ECW’S next meeting is on June 8th at the Hunt Education Center, The HEC, on Cherry Street (next to Rio Lindo’s restaurant) hosted by Maureen Jones.
 
VESTRY’S next meeting is on Monday, June 15th at 6:30 in the undercroft.
