 St. John’s Episcopal Church

Let us pray:

O God, who has blessed and sustained this parish through the years; we ask that you continue to lead us, stretch us, and direct us, in our search for a new rector.  Raise for us, we pray, a priest and pastor who will boldly proclaim your Gospel, faithfully administer your Sacraments, and serve your people with love and compassion, that we may continue to grow in the likeness of Christ and be a beacon of love and hope to our community and the world.  To the glory of your holy Name.

Amen.

From Teresa:

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS will begin on Sunday, June 12 and will be held at 9:00 a.m. in the undercroft. We will be using the book, Walk In Love, to explore The Book of Common Prayer, the Christian Life, basic beliefs of our faith, and Anglican spirituality. Focusing on the sacraments of the church, the liturgical year, habits of daily prayer, and the teachings of Anglican Christianity, we will delve deeply into the ways that prayer shapes our beliefs, how that leads us into a deeper relationship with Christ, and how we put all of that into practice in our daily lives.
Please let Allison Biederman know if you plan on attending so that more books can he ordered if need be. We look forward to offering this class and hope you will join us!

Soloist Janetté Robinson will be with us at St. John’s on Sunday, June 5.

Janetté Robinson is a native of Jonesboro, Arkansas.  She was introduced to music very early in life, starting at her home church of St. Paul A.M.E.  With her parents quickly noticing a new-found skill and passion for music, she began taking voice lessons at the age of eight at Arkansas State University.  This would eventually lead to a full ride scholarship as well as a pursuit of a degree in Vocal performance.  After school, she relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas where she currently resides working with local professional theater’s (such as Cabe Festival Theatre), as well as their local opera company (Opera in the Rock).  When Janetté is not on stage she can also be found as a Soprano section leader at Second Presbyterian Church, as well as a vocalist with Praeclara Singers.  Janetté feels it is an absolute joy, and blessing to continuously share the gift of music in God’s house, essentially where it all began.

The Vestry will meet in the undercroft at St. John’s on Monday, June 20th at 5:30.
